New Chair for Guernsey Branch of STEP

St. Peter Port, Guernsey: Adèle Perrot has been announced as the new chair of the Guernsey branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Ms Perrot, a business development manager for Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited, has previously served on the committee of the island’s STEP branch as company secretary. She has taken on the role of chair from Alasdair McLaren, a client services director with First Names Group in Guernsey.

‘Alasdair has done a superb job as the local STEP chairman, and I’ll be continuing his excellent work,’ said Ms Perrot. ‘As a branch, we’re committed to continuing professional development within the financial services sector.

‘With more than 800 members in Guernsey, we have a great pool of local talent and I’m looking forward to helping support their ongoing development for the benefit of individuals, clients and the wider island community.’

She added: ‘STEP Guernsey regularly puts on lectures as well as an annual conference, and supports the Guernsey Training Agency. Key to our work is providing training and education for members of the fiduciary sector, with local students mainly working towards the International Diploma, International Foundation Certificate and, more recently, the advanced and specialised papers for qualified members.’

Ms Perrot, who is also professionally qualified with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ISCA), has worked at Butterfield for the past five years and was educated at Blanchelande College and The Guernsey Grammar School. She has also previously lived in the British Virgin Islands, where she volunteered with the local search and rescue team.
